Textbook:                             The Human Side of Organizations, Eighth Edition, by
Michael W. Drafke and Stan Kossen, Addison-Wesley, 1998.

 

Catalog Description:         An introductory course concerned with the nature, scope, and understanding of human interactions as they relate to management.  Emphasis on theory and practice using conventional and laboratory methods.

 

Course Objectives:           The student should be able to demonstrate a basic understanding of the theory and practice of human interaction in relation to management.

 

Method of Instruction:      Lectures and interactive participation by the student in the resolution of problems and exercises.

 

Grading:                               A=90 – 100%

                                                B=80 – 89%

                                                C=70 – 79%

                                                D=60 – 69%

                                                F=   0 – 59%

 

 College Attendance Policy:   
Roll will be taken each class period.  Students who are absent from class more than one-eighth of a course (six class hours) without the instructor’s permission shall be withdrawn.  Please consult with class instructors for specific class attendance and grading policies.  Maximum absences are as follows:

                                                Classes meeting 3 times/week:      6 absences

                                                Classes meeting 2 times/week:      4 absences

                                                Classes meeting 1 time/week:        2 absences
