The course includes instruction in using formulas and functions in spreadsheets and applying spreadsheet techniques to various business applications such as budgeting, cost analysis, scheduling, financial statement analysis, and sales forecasts.

Roll will be taken each class period. Students who are absent from class more than one-eighth of a course without the instructor’s permission shall be withdrawn. If a student is absent from class, the instructor must be contacted so that assignments may be completed prior to the next class.

Homework assignments are due at the beginning of class. Refer to the course schedule for due dates. Homework assignments are graded on a 10-point scale. Late assignments will be accepted one class period late with a 1-point penalty. Late assignments will not be accepted after the next class meeting following the original due date.

Each student is expected to do his/her own work. Helping one another is allowed, but direct copying of assignments is cheating and will result in both students’ being withdrawn from class with a grade of “F.” Further disciplinary action may also result.

If an exam is missed, it must be made up prior to the next class meeting. If  an exam is not made up, it will result in a grade of "0." If there are extenuating circumstances, notify your instructor immediately.

The use of cell phones and pagers is strictly prohibited. Cells phones and audible pagers must be turned off upon entering the classroom. In case of emergency, family members may contact the college switchboard at 769-1551 to leave an emergency message for you. If the college switchboard is closed, contact the FSU police at 872-4750, extension 311. If there are extenuating circumstances, you  must speak with the instructor prior to the beginning of class regarding the circumstance.
